Explanation in Organic Chemistry
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2003Abstract: In this paper, a model of a subclass of the explanations given in organic chemistry is developed. This model is supported by three concrete examples. The model suggests that in this discipline, laws, theories, and causal reasoning are interrelated in interesting and heretofore unexplored ways.

Chemistry of the Organic Peroxides
Radiation Research Supplement, 1963characterized by the presence of a covalent 0-0 bond. Their highly complex chemistry has been extensively studied and can only be summarized here, with stress on those aspects which seem of particular interest in radiobiology. Comprehensive reviews are given by Tobolsky and Mesrobian (1) and by Davies (2).

POLAROGRAPHY in ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
Chemical & Engineering News Archive, 1968Polarography offers very many possibilities of application to fundamental problems of organic chemistry, only a part of which is widely recognized at present. One of the reasons for the still limited application is the complexity of the interpretation of the results which needs long periods of training.

(1) Organic Chemistry (2) Systematic Organic Chemistry: (3) Laboratory Practice of Organic Chemistry
Nature, 1938(1) PROF. WHITMORE has written “a one volume reference-text... designed for those already possessing reasonable knowledge and experience in organic chemistry”. It is certainly a long time since an author has claimed to treat “the whole of organic chemistry in a single volume” of rather more than 1,000 pages. Of the book 0·57 is given to the description
