In Situ Structural Evolution and Activity Descriptor of Atomically Dispersed Catalysts During Nitrate Electroreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The in situ evolution of single‐atom catalysts to metallic nanoclusters during nitrate electroreduction is demonstrated. A direct correlation between the OH binding energy on the metallic clusters and ammonia production rate is established as a key activity descriptor, explaining the superior performance of Ni and Co catalysts.

Dynamic Mosaicity Modulates Ion Transport in Stimuli‐Responsive Liquid Crystal Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Thermotropic ionic liquid crystals provide a tunable platform for dimensionally‐controlled soft electrolytes, where anisotropy, nanoconfinement, and dynamic mosaicity govern ion transport behavior. In situ and operando analyses reveal a direct correlation between dynamic mosaicity and mesoscopic conductivity.

Root Meristem Maintenance Mechanisms are Key to Plant Defense Against Nanoplastics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Small nanoplastics can disrupt cell integrity and inhibit cell division in meristem zone of plant root. The plants can counteract the cell damage by upregulating genes associated with root meristem maintenance and increasing auxin accumulation by PIN2 transport inhibition.

An Opto‐Bio‐Hydrodynamic Platform for Instructing Cardiac Left‐Right Asymmetry Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By establishing mechanistic links among optically tuned ciliary dynamics, flow‐mediated signaling, and organ asymmetry, a multifunctional Opto‐Bio‐Hydrodynamic platform is developed to modulate ciliary motion with the programmable near infrared light for instructing cardiac left‐right asymmetry development in a spatiotemporally controlled manner, which
