Effect of an organic residue on herbicide field dissipation [PDF]

open access: yesWIT Transactions on Ecology and the Environment, 2008
The aim of this work was to study the effect of the application of a solid waste from olive oil production (alperujo) on the movement and persistence of the herbicide diuron [3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea]. The application of alperujo, fresh or composted, to the land has been shown to be an extremely effective contribution to increasing crop ...

Pierceable, Water‐Resistant, and Transparent Nanofilm Electrodes Comprising Carbon Nanotubes for Long‐Term Monitoring of Plant Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultra‐flexible electrodes composed of single‐walled carbon nanotubes on a polymeric substrate exhibit excellent transparency, water resistance, and conformability to hairy surfaces. These non‐invasive nanofilms are easily pierced by trichomes, overcoming the structural barriers in plant electrophysiology.

Environmental Effects and Management Strategies of the Herbicides

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bio-Resource and Stress Management, 2020
India has wide range of agro-climates and soil types and highly diverse agriculture farming systems with different types of weed problems. So, herbicides are the integrated part of the general cropping systems.

Seeds of Doubt: North American farmers' experiences of GM crops [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The picture the biotechnology industry has painted of GM crops in North America is one of unqualified success, after six years of commercial growing. The objective of this report was to assess whether this image is accurate and if not what problems have ...

Weed flora and weed management of field peas in Finland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The composition of the weed flora of dry pea (Pisum sativum L.) fields and cropping practices were investigated in southwestern Finland. Surveys were done in 2002–2003 in 119 conventionally cropped fields and 64 fields under organic cropping.

Electrochemical Hofmann Rearrangement for Modular Synthesis of Unsymmetrical Ureas and Late‐Stage Modification of Drugs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An electrochemical Hofmann rearrangement of amide involving amine or other amide nucleophiles has been developed. The use of NaI guarantees the feasibility and compatibility of the electrosynthesis protocol, which enables highly chemoselective synthesis of unsymmetrical N‐acylureas from two different amides, as well as the production of unsymmetrical ...

Probleme bei der Unkrautbekämpfung in einem Gebiet mit hohen Abundanzen von Ambrosia artemisiifolia und Möglichkeiten der Reduzierung der Beifuß- Ambrosie in dieser Region

open access: yesJulius-Kühn-Archiv, 2014
A distribution area of common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) is situated in the south of Brandenburg. The weed species appears in arable fields and at roadsides. In some fields herbicide application is required due to the high frequency of weed plants.

Modelling environmental effects of agriculture : the case of organic rye and grey partridge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Our optimal control model identifies economic reasons as to why farmland bird populations have dramatically declined in modern agricultural landscapes. By integrating recreational wildlife values into farm level decision-making on arable crop choice and ...

Marine organisms as sources of C4-weed-specific herbicides. [PDF]

open access: yesPesticide Outlook, 2000
Imagine that you are a plant propagule looking for a home. You find a nice warm sunny place where the nutrients wash over you and think that you have arrived in paradise. And, what is more, there are few other plants with which to compete. However there are many animals close by in the form of corals and sponges and a variety of animals which make up ...
