Biologically Inspired Organic Light-Emitting Diodes
Nano Letters, 2016Many animal species employ highly conspicuous traits as courtship signals for successful mating. Fireflies utilize their bioluminescent light as visual courtship signals. In addition to efficient bioluminescent light emission, the structural components of the firefly lantern also contribute to the enhancement of conspicuous optical signaling. Recently,

Dissociation of excitons in organic light-emitting diodes
Microelectronics Journal, 2007In this paper, the dissociation of excitons in both doped and undoped organic light-emitting diodes is investigated in detail by means of electric-field-induced photoluminescence quenching. The results show that the doped devices demonstrate lower quenching than that of undoped device.

Dendritic macromolecules for organic light-emitting diodes
Chemical Society Reviews, 2008The general concepts, design criteria, and physical parameters, such as component placement and electroluminescence, that relate to the construction of OLED devices are described, followed by a discussion of the current literature detailing the use of branched and dendritic materials as the key electroluminescent elements of single- and multi-layered ...

Degradation mechanisms in organic light emitting diodes
Synthetic Metals, 2000Lifetime measurement results on organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) are presented and analyzed. The drive voltage tends to increase and the luminance tends to decrease with operating time. Upon the reversal of the polarity of the external field, the voltage trends are reversed almost completely and the luminance trends undergo weak changes.

Blue light emitting naphthalimides for organic light emitting diodes
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2013The photophysical, electrochemical, surface morphology and thermal properties of two novel blue lightemitting materials were studied. Results indicate that the molecules offer potential as non-doping light-emitting materials with good electron injection capabilities for fabrication of blue organic light-emitting diodes.

Organic light emitting diodes.
2004A method of fabricating an OLED element or display having two or more OLED layers is described entailing providing a blocking layer by printing with an ink in a desired pattern between two of the OLED layers, whereby, in use, conduction across the OLED element or display is reduced in the area of the pattern, wherein the ink is colored to increase ...

Photochemistry of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2007The optical properties and excited‐state geometries of some organic light‐emitting diodes have been investigated by the SAC‐CI method. The absorption and emission spectra have been predicted in high accuracy and the chain‐length dependence of transition energies has been precisely reproduced.

A Thermally Stable Organic Light-Emitting Diode
1995The design of organic electroluminescence (EL) devices meets several barriers, thermal stability and injection ability of charge carriers from the electrodes being important examples. In spite of considerable efforts to surmount them,1 they still create serious problems and require more experimental data and profounded knowledge on the device operation.

Models of organic light-emitting diodes
Synthetic Metals, 1997Abstract Based upon the recognition that bimolecular charge recombination in random organic systems is in accord with the Langevin formalism, a simple model has been developed to treat the recombination of charge carriers in light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
