Epidemiologic studies of organic micropollutants in drinking water

Science of The Total Environment, 1985
Epidemiologic studies have been conducted in order to make a quantitative statement about associations between drinking water contaminants and disease. The basic measures of the association are a rate ratio or relative risk and rate difference or attributable risk.

[Organic micropollution of drinking water].

Revue d'epidemiologie et de sante publique, 1979
This work is about organic micropollution of waters sampled at the flowing in and out of three treatment stations. Micropollutants are obtained by chloroformic extraction. It is shown that the extracts have biological effects which can be measured by in vitro and in vivo assays.

Environmental Transfer of Some Organic Micropollutants

1987
The ever-increasing amount of organic micropollutants emitted from industry and households into our environment may endanger the functioning of ecosystems and the health of man. The evaluation of the ecotoxicological impact of the organic micropollutants calls for an assessment of the combined accumulation, advection, diffusion, and reaction processes ...

Analysis of Organic Micropollutants by HPLC

1984
The potential of HPLC as analytical method for the analysis of nonvolatile organic compounds in complex mixtures is discussed. The state of art to optimize the analysis via the number of theoretical plates of the separation column, via multicolumn operation and by applying selective detection is reviewed.

Organic Micropollutants in Drinking Water Resources

2000
Discharges of toxic organic micropollutants from various industrial, agricultural and municipal sources have resulted in permanently contaminated water bodies, polluted sediments and accumulation of xenobiotic chemicals in the aquatic food chain. This phenomenon has been observed throughout the industrialized world, although the extent of the problem ...

Organic Micropollutants in the Aqueous Environment

1986
Abstract Advances in analytical techniques over the past 10 years, particularly with gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry, have facilitated a detailed examination of the volatile components of the micro-organic constituents of waters.
