Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Catalysis of the electrochemical reduction of oxygen by bacteria isolated from electro-active biofilms formed in seawater [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Biofilmsformed in aerobic seawater on stainless steel are known to be efficient catalysts of the electrochemicalreduction of oxygen. Based on their genomic analysis, seven bacterial isolates were selected and a cyclic voltammetry (CV) procedure was ...

Mechanical Behavior and Fracture Mechanisms of MXene/PVDF Nanocomponsites: In Situ Characterization and Multiscale Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

Diffusion and adsorption of the nematicide 1,3-dichloropropene in soil

open access: yes, 1972
After soil fumigation the concentration of the nematicidal compounds cis and trans 1,3-dichloropropene at various depths in the soil was estimated by electron-capture gas-chromatography.

Analysis of volatile organic compounds in breath as a potential diagnostic modality in disease monitoring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The use of breath odours in medical diagnosis dates back to classical times, though in its modern form the technique is only a few decades old. There are several breath tests in common clinical use, though all of them involve administration of a known or

Molecule-Induced Homolysis versus "Concerted Oxenoid Oxygen Insertion" in the Oxidation of Organic Compounds by Dimethyldioxirane

open access: yes, 1998
Evidence for a molecule-induced homolysis of dimethyldioxirane by several classes of organic compounds (alkanes, alkenes, ethers, alcohols, aldehydes, iododerivatives) is reported.

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.
