Organic electronics on paper

Applied Physics Letters, 2004
We have fabricated organic thin-film transistors and ring oscillators on paper and on flexible polyetherether ketone film using small-molecule hydrocarbon pentacene as the semiconductor and solution-processed polyvinylphenol as the gate dielectric. Transistors on paper have a carrier mobility of 0.2 cm2/V s and an on/off current ratio of 106, similar ...

Organization of a Scientific Paper

The Canadian Entomologist, 1951
Good organization of a scientific paper benefits both the writer and the reader. It enables the author to develop his subject systematically and logically, and to attain his objective with greater clarity, brevity, and emphasis. It provides the reader with a plan that he can follow and so keeps him attuned throughout to the writer's thought sequence ...

Paper Chromatography of Organic Acids

Nature, 1954
GLYCONIC acids, glycaric acids and glycuronic acids and certain related hydroxy acids show a marked tendency to produce streaked spots on paper chromatograms. This may be eliminated by incorporating in the developing solvent certain organic acids such as formic acid or acetic acid1 to suppress ionization of the carboxyl group.

The self-organization of starch on paper

Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal, 2012
The objective of this study was to clarify how modified starch polymers self-organize on the surface of paper. Understanding this phenomenon could enable tailoring of the surface of paper with small amounts of polymer, thereby controlling and adjusting its surface chemistry and absorption properties.Native potato starch without depolymerization was ...

The Retention of Organic Solvents in Paper

Journal of the American Institute for Conservation, 1980
Abstract The retention of organic solvents in solvent-treated papers has been explored using gas chromatography. Results suggest that moisture in the atmosphere will displace retained solvents completely in a few hours under an ordinary environment. A related study of the sorption of thymol vapors by paper indiCates that thymol also is not retained ...

"Papereality" and Learning in Bureaucratic Organizations

Administration & Society, 1998
This article argues that organizations create, maintain, and live by "papereality, " defined as a world of symbols, a particular form of representation that takes precedence over the things and events represented. If so, what is written down as official can be an important guide to and constraint on behavior in organizations.
