Process integration of organic Rankine cycle

open access: yesEnergy, 2009
An organic Rankine cycle (ORC) uses an organic fluid as a working medium within a Rankine cycle power plant. ORC offers advantages over conventional Rankine cycle with water as the working medium, as ORC generates shaft-work from low to medium temperature heat sources with higher thermodynamic efficiency.

Buoyancy organic Rankine cycle

open access: yesRenewable Energy, 2011
Abstract In the scope of renewable energy, we draw attention to a little known technique to harness solar and geothermal energy. The design here proposed and analyzed is a conceptual hybrid of several patents. By means of a modified organic Rankine cycle, energy is obtained utilizing buoyancy force of a working fluid.

Comparative Performance Analysis of Combined Power Systems Trilateral Cycle-Organic Rankine Cycle (TLC-ORC) and Organic Rankine Cycle Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC-ORC)

open access: yes, 2021

Technical options for Organic Rankine Cycle systems

open access: yes, 2017
The plant components and the plant configurations adopted in the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) field differ appreciably from the solutions used in large steam cycles because of the different nature of the working fluid and the type of heat source. ORCs are rarely fueled by fossil fuels, they usually work at relatively low temperatures, and they are ...

Thermoeconomic comparison between the organic flash cycle and the novel organic Rankine flash cycle (ORFC)

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management, 2020
Growing environmental concerns are driving the energy market toward the development of thermodynamic cycles to harness renewable energy and waste heat. This manuscript introduces the novel organic Rankine flash cycle, which combines the organic Rankine ...
