3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Resonant energy transfer in light harvesting and light emitting applications

open access: yes, 2009
The performance of light emitting and light harvesting devices is improved by utilising resonant energy transfer. In lighting applications, the emission energy of a semiconductor heterostructure and the absorption of organic dyes or colloidal quantum ...

Quantitative physical analysis of gate-insulator/organic-semiconductor interaction and its impact on the OTFT performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Organic transistor parameters (i.e. threshold, stability, on/off current ratio, subthreshold slope) are not only defined by the organic semiconductor (OSC) itself, but they strongly depend on the interface between the OSC and the gate insulator (GI), the

Inkjet-Printed Organic Field-Effect Transistor by Using Composite Semiconductor Material of Carbon Nanoparticles and Poly(3-Hexylthiophene)

open access: yesJournal of Nanotechnology, 2011
Poly(3-hexylthiophene), P3HT, has been widely used in organic electronics as a semiconductor material. It suffers from the low carrier mobility characteristics. This limits P3HT to be employed in applications.

Ion‐Reconfigurable “N”‐Shaped Antiambipolar Behavior in Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A unique N‐shaped negative differential transconductance (NDT) characteristics is demonstrated in single‐polymer organic electrochemical transistors through a sequential doping–redox–doping process driven by iodide ions. This redox‐driven mechanism enables low‐voltage, ion‐controlled reconfigurability and tunable current modulation, allowing seamless ...

Charge transport mechanism and memristive effect in a thin film based on fluorinated polyaryl ether containing 1,4-dioxo-thioxanthene-9-one in-chain blocks

open access: yesPhysics of Complex Systems
A new fluorinated thermally stable polyaryl ether with electron-withdrawing thioxanthenone in-chain block (FPAE-ThS) was synthesized through the interaction of perfluorobiphenyl with 1,4-dihydroxy-9H-thioxanthene-9-one.

Stereoselective Organic Reactions in Heterogeneous Semiconductor Photocatalysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2019
The most significant feature of heterogeneous semiconductor photocatalysis is that both oxidation and reduction occur in a one-pot process. Thus, photocatalysis leads to unique redox organic reactions that cannot be achieved by conventional techniques ...

Strongly exchange-coupled triplet pairs in an organic semiconductor

open access: yesNature Physics, 2016
From biological complexes to devices based on organic semiconductors, spin interactions play a key role in the function of molecular systems. For instance, triplet-pair reactions impact operation of organic light-emitting diodes as well as photovoltaic ...

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.
