Organically bound sulfur in refractory organic substances
Fresenius' Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2001The sulfur compounds of refractory organic substances (ROS) of different origin have been characterized. Total organic sulfur was determined by elemental analysis. Sulfur-containing amino acids methionine and cystine were analyzed chromatographically after hydrolysis with HCl or by proteolytic digestion using enzymes.

Sorption of Organic Substances
2018This chapter discusses the uptake of organic substances from water and nonaqueous solutions. Most water supplies have at least some amount of organic matter present. Organic matter found in water supplies is usually acidic in nature and accordingly can be adsorbed by anion exchange resins.
