Organically pillared layered zinc hydroxides

Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 2004
Abstract The two organically pillared layered zinc hydroxides [Zn2(OH)2(ndc)], CPO-6, and [Zn3(OH)4(bpdc)], CPO-7, were obtained in hydrothermal reactions between 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid (ndc) and zinc nitrate (CPO-6) and 4,4′biphenyldicarboxylate (bpdc) and zinc nitrate (CPO-7), respectively.

In Situ Construction of Anode–Molecule Interface via Lone‐Pair Electrons in Trace Organic Molecules Additives to Achieve Stable Zinc Metal Anodes

Advanced Energy Materials, 2023
The practical application of aqueous zinc batteries (AZBs) is significantly limited by the poor reversibility of the zinc anodes, including rampant dendrite growth and severe interfacial side‐reactions.

Zinc Isotopic Fractionation: Why Organic Matters

Environmental Science & Technology, 2009
Zinc isotopic fractionation during adsorption onto a purified humic acid (PHA), an analogue of organic matter (OM), has been investigated experimentally as a function of pH. The Donnan Membrane device (DM) was used to separate Zn bound to the PHA from free Zn2+ ions in solution and allowed us to measure the isotopic ratios of free Zn2+.

A High Utilization and Environmentally Sustainable All‐Organic Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Battery Enabled by a Molecular Architecture Design

Advanced Energy Materials, 2023
Despite their safe and cost‐effective merits, the cycling durability of aqueous zinc–organic batteries is hindered by cathode dissolution and low coulombic efficiency of Zn metal anodes.

Zinc for organ pipe building.

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2011
Zinc is being used only rarely for organ pipes, since high quality material has not been available. The slightly harder metal makes manual processing of the pipes more complicated for the voicer. Nevertheless zinc is much more cost-efficient. Grillo Werke (Germany) has developed a “soft zinc strip” which is significantly better, as far as workability ...
