Biofabrication of a Filtration Barrier by Integrating Electrospun Membranes and Flow in a Glomerular Co‐Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An ex vivo glomerular filtration barrier is engineered using electrospun, biomimetic membranes seeded with human glomerular cells. The model supports fenestrated endothelium and podocyte foot processes under flow, mimics size‐selective filtration, and enables disease modeling with hiPSC‐derived podocytes, offering a powerful platform for studying ...

Rhythm in speech: What rhythmic organizations reveal about cognitive processes in spontaneous speech production versus reading aloud

open access: closedJournal of Pragmatics, 1999
Abstract The rhythm of speech can be defined from two different standpoints: a metric one and a rhythmic one. Considered as an assimilation tendency involving the regulation of intervals, speech rhythm becomes a metric concept; considered as a dissimilatory tendency involving the production of events, it becomes a rhythmic concept.
