Thalidomide-induced Organizing Pneumonia

Southern Medical Journal, 2006
Twenty medications are associated with drug-induced organizing pneumonia; however, thalidomide is not listed as a potential causative agent. Thalidomide (Thalomid, Celgene Corp., Summit, NJ), an angiogenesis inhibitor and immunomodulator that reduces tumor necrosis factor-alpha, is used for the treatment of multiple myeloma.

Bronchiolitis Obliterans Organizing Pneumonia

New England Journal of Medicine, 1985
In 50 of 94 patients with bronchiolitis obliterans we found no apparent cause or associated disease, and the bronchiolitis obliterans occurred with patchy organizing pneumonia. Histologic characteristics included polypoid masses of granulation tissue in lumens of small airways, alveolar ducts, and some alveoli.

Organizing pneumonia associated with Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection

Japanese Journal of Radiology, 2010
Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection is known to produce infiltrative and/or nodular opacities that are often localized. A patient presented to us with diffuse centrilobular, peribronchovascular, and perilobular opacities after documented Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.

Post-Infectious Organizing Pneumonia: an Indistinguishable and Easily Misdiagnosed Organizing Pneumonia

Clinical Laboratory, 2015
Post-infectious organizing pneumonia (OP) is a rare clinical entity associated with nonspecific clinical features and can be easily misdiagnosed. This study aimed to investigate the clinical feature differences between cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP) and post-infectious OP.We retrospectively analyzed clinical data on demographic characteristics,

Bronchiolitis Obliterans Organizing Pneumonia

Archives of Internal Medicine, 2001
Bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOP) is increasingly recognized as an important cause of diffuse infiltrative lung disease. It is a diagnostic consideration in patients with a febrile flu-like illness of a few weeks' duration and a roentgenogram showing bilateral patchy infiltrates that are not responsive to a typical course of ...

Organizing Pneumonia

2019
Organizing pneumonia (OP) is a nonfibrotic form of interstitial pneumonia that represents a manifestation of lung injury. It may be secondary to another process (such as vasculitis, collagen vascular disease, or drug therapy). When no inciting cause is found, the OP is believed to cryptogenic and the term Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia (COP) may be ...
