Radical exchange reactions between organomercury compounds
Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1970Abstract Reactions of diphenylmercury with R′ 2 Hg (where R′ = CN, CCl 3 , CCPh) in dimethylformamide were studied by a polarographic method and have been found to yield PhHgR′, obeying the second-order kinetics. Addition of iodide displays negligible effect on the reaction rates.

The anodic oxidation of organomercury compounds
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1971Summary The oxidation of five organomercury compounds at a platinum electrode in acetonitrile has been studied. The products have been isolated from electrolyses carried out in the anhydrous solvent and in solvent to which water had been added. In the latter case, the products are shown to depend on the anion of the inert electrolyte.

Synthesis of stereoisomeric organomercury compounds via organolithium compounds
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 19551. By treatment of the geometric isomers of 1,2-diphenylvinyllithium with mercuric chloride, the stereoisomeric bis(1,2-diphenylvinyl)mercurys have been prepared. 2. By the disymmetrization of the stereoisomeric bis(1,2-diphenylvinyl)mercurys, the stereoisomeric 1,2-diphenylvinyl mercury chlorides have been prepared. 3.

The mechanism of solvation of a series of symmetrical organomercury compounds of different classes has been studied. Spin-spin coupling constants of several types, where one of the interesting nuclei is the metal nucleus, were chosen as the measured parameter. The observed solvation changes in the spin-spin coupling constants have been interpreted from

Stream pollution by an organomercury compound
Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 1976A GC/MS study of residues in general can be very rewarding as shown by some of our unexpected discoveries, but due to the vast ammount of data collected, the best way to effectively use the technique for routine survey work must be with the aid of an interfaced computer complete with library search capabilities.

Solvent Extraction of Organomercury Compound with Quaternary Amines
Environmental Letters, 1975Methylmercuric chloride and phenylmercuric acetate extract very efficiently with quaternary amines dissolved in diethylbenzene or other simple solvents. The extraction is effective from either alkaline or acidic solution. The technique considerably extends the scope of conventional solvent extraction practice to permit the extraction and concentration ...
