Research-oriented image registry for multimodal image integration

Medical Informatics, 1998
To provide multimodal biomedical images automatically, we constructed the research-oriented image registry, Data Delivery System (DDS). DDS was constructed on the campus local area network. Machines which generate images (imagers: DSA, ultrasound, PET, MRI, SPECT and CT) were connected to the campus LAN. Once a patient is registered, all his images are

An image oriented CAD approach

1996
Matching abstract CAD models with images is a well studied problem. It includes the problems of identifying modelled objects for which 3D CAD data is available in images, and of locating them with respect to a given reference frame. Some authors have concluded that this problem has no real general solution as the representation levels are too different

Parameter‐oriented CRS imaging

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2006, 2006
The operators used for common-reflection-surfaces stack or interpolation are redundant in view of their information. In addition, each operator is usually uniquely used for a target sample. Our aim is to make use of this redundancy in order to gain more information for each target sample.

Task-Oriented Network for Image Dehazing

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2020
Haze interferes the transmission of scene radiation and significantly degrades color and details of outdoor images. Existing deep neural networks-based image dehazing algorithms usually use some common networks. The network design does not model the image formation of haze process well, which accordingly leads to dehazed images containing artifacts and

Automatic image orientation detection

Proceedings 1999 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. 99CH36348), 1999
We present an algorithm for automatic image orientation estimation using a Bayesian learning framework. We demonstrate that a small codebook (the optimal size of codebook is selected using a modified MDL criterion) extracted from a vector quantizer can be used to estimate the class-conditional densities of the observed features needed for the Bayesian ...

Generalized simultaneous multi‐orientation 2D imaging

Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2019
PurposeFlexibility in slice prescription is critical for precise motion monitoring during MR‐guided therapies. Adding more slices to improve spatial coverage during rapid 2D cine imaging often hampers temporal resolution. This work describes a framework to simultaneously acquire multiple arbitrarily oriented slices which share a common frequency ...

Orientation imaging of microstructures

Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1994
The complexity of microstructures characteristic of polycrystalline materials presents the serious investigator with many challenges. The materials engineer hopes to associate the important technological properties of these materials with specific (quantifiable) attributes of the microstructure; however, microscopy presents an overwhelming myriad of ...

Diversity-oriented optical imaging probe development

Current Opinion in Chemical Biology, 2011
The development of optical probes is receiving considerable attention due to their rising adaptation in diagnostics and medical imaging. Diversity-oriented approaches make use of combinatorial chemistry and high-throughput screenings to enrich the spectral and structural variety of these probes and effectively identify those with specific properties (e.

Kansei-Oriented Image Retrieval

2001
In the design of multimedia database system, one of the important issues is how to deal with kansei of human beings. A kansei-oriented image retrieval has been proposed in this paper. Human kansei includes two aspects: common kansei and individual kansei. Our approach also consists of common kansei retrieval and individual kansei retrieval.

Object-Oriented Image Analysis

SPIE Proceedings, 1987
An image analysis workstation is described which supports the object-oriented representation and manipulation of grayscale sensed image objects. Segmented grayscale images are transformed automatically into a novel list-oriented representation. Image objects resemble jigsaw puzzle pieces which fit together to form a grayscale image.
