Region-oriented charge simulation
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1994A new approach for the calculation of electrostatic fields using the charge simulation method is presented. The basic idea is to divide multidielectric arrangements into regions. The field and potential inside a region are calculated by only taking into account the discrete charges that surround it.

Innovation-oriented regional policy
Regional Studies, 1980Ewers H.-J. and Wettmann R. W. (1980) Innovation-oriented regional policy, Reg. Studies 14, 161–179. In a changed macroeconomic situation, it is felt that regional policy is not directed towards the main bottleneck factor constraining growth in the problem regions. Regional innovation potential is shown to be the decisive bottleneck.

A Simulation-Oriented Regional Econometric Model
Environment and Planning A: Economy and Space, 1986This paper concerns the structure and application of an econometric model of the Pittsburgh region. A distinction is drawn between forecasting models and those to be used for policy simulation. With this in mind, a simulation-oriented model based on annual data is specified and applied.

A region segmentation method for region-oriented image compression
Neurocomputing, 2012In order to obtain homogeneous regions and smooth contours for region-oriented image compression, gradient-coupled spiking cortex model is designed and applied to digital image segmentation. Inspired by the knowledge of visual cortex, the model is composed of neurons with spike coupling and gradient enhancement, and it is same as the one in the visual ...

Amorphous Region in Oriented Polyoxymethylene
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1968The texture of polyoxymethylene film, crystallized by drawing melt, was determined from X-ray high angle and low angle diffraction patterns. On the basis of this structure, a certain simplified model is proposed on the orientation of molecular chains in the amorphous parts of a sample, taking into account the results on dielectric dispersion.

This chapter finds out regional orientation index for regional trade blocks within Asia and indicates regional bias for CFGT having a value greater than one. It shows that most of countries in the ASEAN and APTA were importing from countries within Asia. The APTA was better in terms of EEL export.

Region-Oriented Texture Coding
1996Region-oriented image representation offers several advantages over block-oriented schemes, for example better adaptation to the local image characteristics, or object motion compensation as opposed to block-wise motion compensation. For the task of region-oriented image coding, new algorithms are needed which work on arbitrarily shaped image regions ...

Conclusion: The Transit-Oriented Region
2019One cannot hate sprawl but also hate density, and neither can one hate tax dollars being spent on public transit while highways remain un-tolled and parking is free. There are costs and benefits to all choices and having a model to see the scale of the operation and volume of opportunity helps decision makers, including the interested public, to make ...
