Biodegradable Materials Composed of PLA and High Load Triglycerides
Transparent films of polylactic acid (PLA) was prepared with high sesame oil load (50% w/w). The cross‐section analysis of the films indicate that the oils are not absorbed into the polymer matrix; rather, they are stored as small droplets within the film.

Liquidambar orientalis leaf extract (LOLE) and resin extract (LORE) were incorporated into four hydrogel matrices to obtain bioactive wound dressing films. LOLE‐loaded systems mainly contributed to antioxidant activity, whereas LORE‐loaded systems showed stronger antimicrobial performance. The hydrogels exhibited polymer‐ and extract‐dependent swelling,

Epigenetic Regulation in Cardiovascular Diseases: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targets
Environmental and lifestyle exposures reshape the cardiovascular epigenome through coordinated regulation of DNA methylation, histone modifications, noncoding RNAs, and RNA methylation (m6A). These multilayered mechanisms drive enhancer‐centered regulatory network remodeling and epigenomic plasticity in cardiovascular diseases, highlighting emerging ...

In ecological field studies where species‐level identification is challenging, practical approaches based on external morphological traits may provide a useful basis for rapid assessments. Here, New Zealand serpulid worms were initially grouped based on their external calcareous tube morphology and subsequently sequenced using the 18S rRNA gene to ...

A New Species of Arthropteris From Samoa
A new species, Arthropteris samoensis (Arthropteridaceae), recorded from the Samoan islands of Upolu and Savai‘i, is described and illustrated. In Samoa, the new species is distinguished from Arthropteris palisotii s.l. by its smaller stature and more delicate texture (laminae mostly < 3 cm wide vs.

Suspended sediment (SS) is a major stressor to coastal marine ecosystems worldwide, with SS loads expected to increase under future anthropogenic and climatic pressures. Sponges, as obligate filter feeders, are often assumed to be sensitive to elevated SS, yet responses vary widely among species, and little is known about physiological impacts of SS ...
