Lexical decision, visual hemifield and angle of orientation

Neuropsychologia, 1997
Varying the orientation of word or nonword target stimuli from 0 degree to 90 degrees in a lexical decision-visual hemifield task results in an increase in RT and a decrease in accuracy and d'. RVF superiority, as measured by d' was found at all orientations.

A mathematical basis for selection of wedge angle and orientation

Medical Physics, 1993
The treatment plan optimization criterion that dose be homogeneous over an irradiated volume is equivalent to the criterion that the magnitude of the dose gradient be zero throughout that volume. If the dose gradient due to an individual beam is represented by a vector, the dose gradient due to an ensemble of beams is given by the weighted vector sum ...

Trajectory tracking for groups of unicycles with convergence of the orientation angles

49th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2010
This paper presents a trajectory tracking control strategy for unicycles based on local potential functions and the leader-followers scheme. The leader robot must follow a prescribed trajectory and the rest of the robots follows the leader whereas achieves a desired formation at the same time.

Vitamin D and tibiofemoral joint orientation angles in children

Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics B, 2018
Vitamin D is an important component in musculoskeletal development and function in children. The aim of our study was to investigate serum vitamin D levels and tibiofemoral joint orientation angles in children. We performed a retrospective review on a consecutive series of children presenting with lower limb complaints.

Effects of Method, Orientation, and Size of Angle on the Ponzo Illusion

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 2000
The Ponzo figure was used to test predictions based upon Pressey's 1971 concept of attentive fields. Subjects made judgements using either the method of successive reproduction ( n = 18) or the method of reproduction ( n = 17). Size of the acute angle between the oblique and test lines (30°, 45°, and 60°) and orientation of test figures (apex pointed ...

The effect of orientation angle compensation on polarimetric target decompositions

2009 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2009
The orientation angle of scattering media affects the polarimetric radar signatures. This paper investigates the effect of orientation compensation on polarimetric target decompositions including Pauli decomposition, Freeman and Durden decomposition and Yamaguchi decomposition.

Polarization Orientation Angle and Scattering Characteristics of Steep Terrain

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
In this paper, we address polarimetric radar scattering from steep terrain and its relation to polarization orientation angle (POA) by adopting a tilted surface model based on Bragg scattering. We found that, as the azimuthal slope increases, |VV| decreases at a faster rate than |HH|, they become equal, when POA is ±45°, and |HH|>|VV| afterwards ...

Orientation angle preserving a posteriori polarimetric SAR calibration

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2006
Fully polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data analysis has found wide application for terrain classification, land-use, soil moisture, and ground cover classification. Critical to all analyses and applications is accurate calibration of the relative amplitudes of and phases between the various polarimetric channels.
