A Submillimeter Array Survey of Protoplanetary Disks in the Orion Nebula Cluster

open access: yes, 2010
We present the full results of our 3-year long Submillimeter Array survey of protoplanetary disks in the Orion Nebula Cluster. We imaged 23 fields at 880 microns and 2 fields at 1330 microns, covering an area of ~6.5 arcmin^2 and containing 67 disks.

Modeling the Impact of Moderate External UV Irradiation on Disk Chemistry

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The chemistry within a protoplanetary disk is greatly affected by external radiation from the local stellar environment. Previous work has focused on extreme radiation fields, representative of the center of something like the Orion Nebula Cluster ...

On the O II ground configuration energy levels

open access: yes, 2004
The most accurate way to measure the energy levels for the O II 2p^3 ground configuration has been from the forbidden lines in planetary nebulae. We present an analysis of modern planetary nebula data that nicely constrain the splitting within the ^2D ...

Massive Protoplanetary Disks in the Trapezium Region

open access: yes, 2006
(abridged) We determine the disk mass distribution around 336 stars in the young Orion Nebula cluster by imaging a 2.5' x 2.5' region in 3 mm continuum emission with the Owens Valley Millimeter Array.

The SDSS-V Local Volume Mapper: Data Analysis Pipeline

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We introduce the data analysis pipeline (DAP) for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey V Local Volume Mapper (LVM) project, referred to as the LVM-DAP. We outline our methods for recovering both stellar and emission-line components from optical integral field ...
