Intrabandgap States Engineering in Functionalized Nanodiamond to Generate Solvated Electrons for Photocatalysis Under Solar Illumination

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The negative electron affinity of diamond allows to emit highly reductive electrons. By introducing intra‐bandgap states and an optimized electron transfer mechanism by surface functionalization with Ru(bpy)3, the formation of solvated electrons is achieved upon solar irradiation.

Macroevolutionary patterns in cranial and lower jaw shape of ceratopsian dinosaurs (dinosauria, ornithischia). phylogeny, morphological integration, and evolutionary rates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Organisms: Ceratopsians were herbivorous, beaked dinosaurs, ranging from 1 m to 9 m in body length, usually four-footed, and with a bony frill that extended backwards from the cranium over the nape of the neck. Known from Asia, Europe, and North America,

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Metal Integration Principles, Strategies and Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

Ulysses in the bathroom [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
I make paintings where imaginary characters function as possible cyphers made in reaction to my life experience. I’ve provided in this paper a concise introduction to the circumstances that motivated me to become an artist and how they continue to shape ...

Ultrastable Photoactive Halide Perovskite Nanocrystal‐Sensitized SnO2 Nanorods for Room‐Temperature NO2 Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Metal oxide (MOx)‐based NO2 gas sensors typically require high temperatures or ultraviolet light, limiting their practical use. To enable visible‐light activation at room temperature, efficient and stable photosensitizers should be integrated with nanostructured MOx hosts.

Taxonomy and phylogeny of Dichostereum (Russulales), with descriptions of three new species from southern China

open access: yesMycoKeys, 2018
Nine species of Dichostereum were subjected to phylogenetic analyses, based on a combined dataset of ITS1-5.8S-ITS2-nrLSU-tef1 sequences. The morphology of specimens collected from China and Australia were studied. Three species, D.

How one Learned to Ornament in Late Sixteenth-Century Italy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Several of the sixteenth-century ornamentation manuals state that they are self-sufficient tutors; that instrumentalists and vocalists could learn the skill without further assistance from a teacher.

Beyond the Edge: Charge‐Transfer Excitons in Organic Donor‐Acceptor Cocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Complex excitonic landscapes in acene–perfluoroacene cocrystals are unveiled by polarization‐resolved optical spectroscopy and many‐body theory. This systematic study of a prototypical model system for weakly interacting donor–acceptor compounds challenges common views of charge‐transfer excitons, providing a refined conceptual framework for ...
