Museo del Oro: viñetas

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Antropología, 2013
In January 2011, we summoned in Colombia an international group of scholars/activists to discuss the complexities of the relationship between archaeology, "illicit" excavations, museums, and indigenous peoples from a comparative gaze. The three-day workshop took place in Bogotá and Villa de Leyva.

In Situ Lipoprotein‐seeking Dye for in Vivo Real‐Time Imaging of Lipid Dysregulation Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops lipoprotein‐seeking NIR‐II dyes that specifically bind circulating lipoproteins. These dyes form ultra‐stable complexes with endogenous lipoprotein, enabling real‐time, high‐contrast imaging of fatty liver and atherosclerotic plaques. Tunable binding kinetics allow customized imaging windows.

A DC Compact Model of an Organic Electrochemical Transistor Based on a Semiconductor Physics and Thermodynamic Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a physics‐based DC compact model of an Organic Electrochemical Transistor (OECT) that takes into account the faradaic redox reaction in the above threshold regime and incorporates the diffusive current of the subthreshold regime based on semiconductor physics.

Congenital oro-motor disorders [PDF]

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine & Child Neurology, 2006
Children with congenital oro-motor disorders (COMD) are not numerous. However, as a group, they merit special consideration as management of diseases leading to COMD is complex, owing to their protracted and varying course, the diverse areas of health care involved, and the significant amount of resources their treatment requires.

Enhancing Atomic‐Resolution in Electron Microscopy: A Deep Learning Denoiser Operating in the Frequency Domain

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The newly developed AI‐automated Fast Fourier Transform denoising algorithm surpasses conventional real‐space methods by revealing even light atoms otherwise hidden in noisy backgrounds. Atomic resolution electron microscopy has become an essential tool for many scientific fields, when direct visualization of atomic arrangements and defects is needed ...

Beyond mammals: the evolution of chewing and other forms of oropharyngeal food processing in vertebrates

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Oropharyngeal food processing exhibits a remarkable diversity among vertebrates, reflecting the evolution of specialised ‘processing centres’ associated with the mandibular, hyoid, and branchial arches. Although studies have detailed various food‐processing strategies and mechanisms across vertebrates, a coherent and comprehensive terminology ...
