Chapter 8 Orogenic Gold Deposits of China

2019
Abstract China produces about 450 t Au per year and has government stated in-ground reserves of approximately 12,000 t Au. Orogenic gold, or gold deposits in metamorphic rocks, and associated placer deposits compose about 65 to 75% of this endowment, with lodes existing as structurally hosted vein and/or disseminated orebodies.

Intrusion-related versus orogenic gold, Western Lachlan Orogen, Tasmanides, Australia

Long-lived accretionary orogens like the Tasmanides of eastern Australia have typically undergone a series of compressional and extensional episodes with multiple magmatic and hydrothermal events that shape its rheological, compositional and metallogenic character.

Gold mobility in Archean metasedimentary belts: Implications for orogenic gold deposits

Geology
Abstract The southern Superior Province (Canada) comprises large metasedimentary belts, such as the Pontiac and Quetico subprovinces, adjacent to Au-endowed greenstone belts. The Pontiac sedimentary rocks have been proposed as a source of Au for the highly endowed southern Abitibi greenstone belt.
