Petrogenesis of Paleogene lamprophyres in the Ailaoshan tectonic belt, western Yangtze Craton: Implications for the mantle source of orogenic gold deposits

, 2020
The Ailaoshan tectonic belt, western margin of Yangtze Craton, is an important orogenic gold belt with ore source derived from mantle. The Paleogene lamprophyre dykes are temporally and spatially associated with gold ore bodies in this belt.

Orogenic Gold Mineralization in the Qolqoleh Deposit, Northwestern Iran

Resource Geology, 2007
AbstractThe Qolqoleh gold deposit is located in the northwestern part of the Sanandai‐Sirjan Zone, northwest of Iran. Gold mineralization in the Qolqoleh deposit is almost entirely confined to a series of steeply dipping ductile–brittle shear zones generated during Late Cretaceous–Tertiary continental collision between the Afro‐Arabian and the Iranian ...

Gold mobility in Archean metasedimentary belts: Implications for orogenic gold deposits

Geology
Abstract The southern Superior Province (Canada) comprises large metasedimentary belts, such as the Pontiac and Quetico subprovinces, adjacent to Au-endowed greenstone belts. The Pontiac sedimentary rocks have been proposed as a source of Au for the highly endowed southern Abitibi greenstone belt.

Supergene gold mobility in orogenic gold deposits, Otago Schist, New Zealand

New Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, 2015
Gold has been chemically mobilised by groundwater from host sulphide minerals in orogenic gold deposits of Otago. Mobilisation occurred near the Cenozoic Otago Schist erosional surface beneath a sedimentary cover. Initial Au mobilisation, on a scale of micrometres, occurred when solid solution and microparticulate gold in pyrite and arsenopyrite grains
