Comparison of clinical performance of i-gel and Baska Mask during laparoscopic cholecystectomy [PDF]
Background The supraglottic airway device is an appropriate alternative to tracheal intubation in laparoscopic surgery. We compared the Baska MaskⓇ with i-gelⓇ by measuring the oropharyngeal leak pressure (OLP) and hemodynamic and respiratory parameters ...

In this two‐phase study, school‐aged children were classified as at risk or no‐risk based on severe attacks during one‐year follow‐up. Four types of prediction models were developed. Salivary bacteria and serum inflammatory markers, while informative alone, complement past asthma attacks in predicting future attack risk.

A Comparison of the Oropharyngeal Leak Pressure between the Reusable Classic™ Laryngeal Mask Airway and the Single-use Soft Seal™ Laryngeal Mask Airway [PDF]
We tested the oropharyngeal leak pressure with the reusable laryngeal mask airway and the single-use Soft Seal™ laryngeal mask airway. These two types of laryngeal mask airway (LMA) have a similar design but the reusable LMA cuff is made from silicone whereas the Soft Seal LMA cuff is Polyvinylchloride.

A Comparison of the Reinforced and Standard Laryngeal Mask Airway: Ease of Insertion and the Influence of Head and Neck Position on Oropharyngeal Leak Pressure and Intracuff Pressure [PDF]
We conducted a randomized, crossover study of 60 paralysed anaesthetized adult patients to compare ease of insertion for the reinforced (RLMA) and standard laryngeal mask airway (LMA). We also test the hypothesis that oropharyngeal leak pressure (OLP) and intracuff pressure (ICP) vary with head and neck position for the two devices.

ABSTRACT Gaucher disease (GD) is a rare lysosomal storage disorder characterized by multisystemic involvement. With the advent of enzyme replacement therapy (ERT), patient survival has improved, revealing new long‐term complications. We report a case of a 4‐year‐old male with severe neurovisceral GD who developed protein‐losing enteropathy (PLE ...
