RIP-Seq analysis of non-PPR chloroplast editing factors reveals broad RNA interactions and enrichment of less efficiently translated RNAs by OZ1 and ORRM1 complexes. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant J
SUMMARY C‐to‐U RNA editing in angiosperm chloroplasts requires a large suite of proteins bound together in the editosome. The editosome is comprised of PPR proteins, RIP/MORFs, OZ proteins, and ORRM proteins that physically interact in high molecular weight complexes.

RNA Polymerase RPOTp is Involved in C-to-U RNA Editing at Multiple Sites in Arabidopsis Chloroplasts. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
This study shows that RPOTp, the nucleus‐encoded RNA polymerase in the chloroplast transcription machinery, participates in multiple‐site RNA editing in the chloroplast. RPOTp directly interacts with MORF2, MORF8, MORF9, and ORRM1, affecting the dimerization of MORF proteins in chloroplast RNA editosomes.

(Pre)treatment risk factors for late fatigue and fatigue trajectories following radiotherapy for breast cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 153, Issue 9, Page 1579-1591, 1 November 2023., 2023
What's new? A substantial proportion of breast cancer patients who undergo radiotherapy experience fatigue years after treatment completion. Underlying risk factors and trajectories of long‐term fatigue among affected patients, however, remain poorly understood. Here, the authors analyzed characteristics of fatigue in radiotherapy‐treated breast cancer

Unraveling the plant diversity of the Amazonian canga through DNA barcoding

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 11, Issue 19, Page 13348-13362, October 2021., 2021
Here we bring genetic information for the unique flora of the canga of the Serra dos Carajás in Eastern Amazon. DNA barcodes were obtained for 538 species, 323 genera, and 115 families of vascular plants, with 344 species being characterized for the first time.

Chloroplast genomes of key species shed light on the evolution of the ancient genus Isoetes

open access: yesJournal of Systematics and Evolution, Volume 59, Issue 3, Page 429-441, May 2021., 2021
Although phylogenies have revealed major groups, deep relationships in the genus Isoetes and the overall chloroplast genome architecture of its groups remain unclear. This study assembled chloroplast genomes for six species from distinct phylogenetic and taxonomic groups in Isoetes.

THE IMPACT OF OWNER PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES ON CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SAFETY PERFORMANCE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Construction sites are dangerous work environments. One traditional assumption prevails in the construction industry that construction safety should be the sole responsibility of the contractor.

Climate change impacts on potential recruitment in an ecosystem engineer

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 3, Issue 3, Page 581-594, March 2013., 2013
This research demonstrated only slight variation in the spawning period between two sites over 200 km apart; despite site differences in water and environmental quality, it suggested that temperature and climatic conditions might be the dominant factor in controlling gametogenesis. The most significant finding was that the spawning period in the cockle
