Experimental traumatic debonding of orthodontic brackets.

open access: yesThe Angle orthodontist, 1994
This study was designed to gather information on enamel damage concomitant with traumatic debonding of orthodontic brackets. Seventy-eight extracted premolars passed an inspection for defects and were bonded with metal or ceramic brackets. The samples were debonded by one of six methods: (1) conventional clinical debonding, (2) shear force applied ...

In vitro wearing away of orthodontic brackets and wires in different conditions: A review

open access: yesHeliyon, 2022
Introduction: The release of metallic ions from orthodontic brackets and wires typically depends on their quality (chemical composition) and the medium to which they are exposed, e.g., acidic, alkaline, substances with a high fluoride concentration, etc.

Unstable higher Toda brackets [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
We define two new unstable n-fold Toda brackets for every composable sequence (f_n, ... ,f_1) of pointed maps f_i : X_i \to X_{i+1} between well-pointed spaces with n > 2. The brackets agree with the classical Toda bracket when n = 3, and they are subsets of both the unstable n-fold Toda brackets of Gershenson and Cohen for every n > 2.

Effects of femtosecond laser and other surface treatments on the bond strength of metallic and ceramic orthodontic brackets to zirconia

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Femtosecond laser has been proposed as a method for conditioning zirconia surfaces to boost bond strength. However, metallic or ceramic bracket bonding to femtosecond laser-treated zirconia surfaces has not been tested. This study compared the effects of

An Investigation into the Bonding Properties of New Generation Ceramic Brackets As Compared to a Stainless Steel Bracket [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Introduction: More patients are seeking esthetic alternatives for their orthodontic treatment options, which has led to increased use of ceramic brackets in recent years.

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (dsc) Analyses Of Esthetic Nickel-Titanium Wires As-Received And After Clinical Use [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Introduction: The demand for esthetic orthodontics has increased rapidly over the past few decades, and much progress has been made in the development of esthetic clear and translucent brackets for labial orthodontics. However, the majority of wires used
