Outcome of orthodontic space closure with a missing maxillary central incisor
American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 2003Orthodontic space closure is one of the treatment alternatives when a maxillary central incisor is missing. Because no systematic analysis of such treatment results is available, a sample of 20 consecutively treated patients was examined in a follow-up study.

Interventions for space closure in orthodontic treatment
2014This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To compare the effects of different force delivery systems used with fixed orthodontic appliances to close extraction space. Null hypotheses: There is no difference in the rate of space closure between different force delivery systems when using fixed orthodontic

Orthodontic space closure of lost traumatized anterior teeth – case report
Dental Traumatology, 2008Abstract – This case report refers to an 11‐year‐old boy with avulsion of the upper left central and lateral incisors. The teeth were replanted after 4 h, splinted with a semi‐rigid splint for 12 days, and then endodontically treated. Severe progressive root resorption was seen after 2 years and the teeth were extracted. The boy had a normal occlusion

Effect of ion implantation of TMA archwires on the rate of orthodontic sliding space closure
American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 1998A split-mouth randomized clinical trial was used to determine whether ion implantation of beta-titanium archwire would facilitate sliding space closure. After bilateral maxillary first premolar extractions, 0.19 x 0.025-inch beta-titanium arch wires, ion-implanted on one half only, were placed in 30 subjects aged 10 to 42 years wearing unimplanted 0 ...

Congenitally missing mandibular second premolar: treatment outcome with orthodontic space closure
American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 2003Orthodontic treatment for patients with congenitally missing mandibular second premolars can be challenging. Treatment options include keeping the deciduous second molar, extracting the molars and allowing the space to close spontaneously, autotransplantation, prosthetic replacement, and orthodontic space closure.
