Orthodox Church of Ukraine: Challenges and Risks of a New Beginning
On January 6, 2019, in Istanbul the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I handed the Tomos of Autocephaly to the newly elected head of the newly established Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Epiphany. This historical event was the result of a long-lasting process to establish a national Ukrainian church independent from the Moscow Patriarchate.
