Pattern Division Multiple Access with Large-scale Antenna Array

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, pattern division multiple access with large-scale antenna array (LSA-PDMA) is proposed as a novel non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme.

Ultrahigh‐Yield, Multifunctional, and High‐Performance Organic Memory for Seamless In‐Sensor Computing Operation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular engineering of a nonconjugated radical polymer enables a significant enhancement of the glass transition temperature. The amorphous nature and tunability of the polymer, arising from its nonconjugated backbone, facilitates the fabrication of organic memristive devices with an exceptionally high yield (>95%), as well as substantial ...

A Simple Approach to Constructing Quasi-Sudoku-based Sliced Space-Filling Designs

open access: yes, 2015
Sliced Sudoku-based space-filling designs and, more generally, quasi-sliced orthogonal array-based space-filling designs are useful experimental designs in several contexts, including computer experiments with categorical in addition to quantitative ...

Quantifying Spin Defect Density in hBN via Raman and Photoluminescence Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐optical method is presented for quantifying the density of boron vacancy spin defects in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN). By correlating Raman and photoluminescence signals with irradiation fluence, defect‐induced Raman modes are identified and established an relationship linking optical signatures to absolute defect densities. This enables direct

Generalized wordlength patterns and strength

open access: yes, 2012
Xu and Wu (2001) defined the \emph{generalized wordlength pattern} $(A_1, ..., A_k)$ of an arbitrary fractional factorial design (or orthogonal array) on $k$ factors.

Beyond the orthogonal array concept

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 2004
The aim of this paper is to investigate a notion of regularity that is more flexible than the orthogonal array concept. A close connection is given between \(t\)-form spaces and \(T\)-designs in a Hamming space. The full \(t\)-distribution matrix, whose entries are special kinds of numbers, is also computed.

Reconfigurable Magnetic Soft Microrobot for Acoustically Triggered Targeted Bacterial Sterilization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Reconfigurable magnetic soft microrobots integrate in situ‐grown piezoelectric zinc oxide nanorods that produce reactive oxygen species upon acoustic excitation. Combining magnetically guided transport with thermally induced planar reconfiguration, the microrobots achieve targeted delivery and enhanced bacterial sterilization through efficient on ...

Electroactive Liquid Crystal Elastomers as Soft Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electroactive liquid crystal elastomers (eLCEs) can be actuated via electromechanical, electrochemical, or electrothermal effects. a) Electromechanical effects include Maxwell stress, electrostriction, and the electroclinic effect. b) Electrochemical effects arise from electrode redox reactions.

Comparative Study on the Effect of Tool Wear on Turning Mild Steel and Stainless Steel with a Ceramic Tool Insert Using Taguchi Method

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
Machining is a critical aspect of metalworking since it is used to cut metal. Machine tools, particularly cutting tools, are critical in metalworking for successful metal cutting.
