Basis of irreducible representations of orthogonal groups

Few-Body Systems, 1989
A method for constructing a basis of irreducible representations of unitary groupsUn is generalized to orthogonal groupsOn. The corresponding algorithm is given for the chain for groupsUn ⊃On and also for the chain which is of great relevance in physics.

Stochastic orthogonal and nonorthogonal subspace basis pursuit

2009 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks, 2009
Component analysis, or basis methods, provide a lower-dimensional representation of a given data set for compression, compaction, or discrimination. Stochastic basis pursuit addresses the problem of finding an optimal basis, either orthogonal or nonorthogonal, for improved pattern discrimination for pattern recognition applications.

Spin-free orthogonal m basis

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 1989
Abstract In this article some properties of the spin-free orthogonal m basis are shown and the similarities and differences between the Wigner basis and this orthogonal m basis are discussed.

The Recursion Method with a Non-Orthogonal Basis

1987
The problems involved in applying the recursion method to a hamiltonian with non-orthogonal basis functions are described. Methods of calculating both the local density of states and the charge density are given. The latter is most easily calculated using a block tridiagonalisation scheme. The method is illustrated for diamond.
