Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including

We introduce a molecular strategy to assemble one‐dimensional (1D) materials into two‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Crystals of [FeX(pzX)(bpy)] (X = Cl, F) form anisotropic 2D layers that can be mechanically exfoliated into thin sheets.

Principal Components Analysis and Orthogonal Projection
_ Okamoto(2006) (see the file okamoto_2006.pdf in the Files box below) explains principal components analysis (PCA) from the point of view of orthogonal projection.

Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Molecular doping of conjugated polymers is fundamentally constrained by thermodynamic phase behavior. This Perspective reframes doping efficiency and stability in terms of miscibility limits, binodals, and solvus boundaries, highlighting the role of effective interaction parameters and charge transfer.

Orthogonal projection in teaching regression and financial mathematics
Two improvements in teaching linear regression are suggested. The first is to include the population regression model at the beginning of the topic.

Elephant‐skin‐inspired crack networks are programmed in porous diatomaceous earth (DE)‐cement composites using substrate‐guided, stress‐concentration induced fracture. The resulting crack lattices act as capillary conduits that redistribute water, while the porous matrix stores moisture.

SPARC (spatio‐chimeric, plasma‐based, anisotropic, and shear‐responsive construct) that integrates myogenic and vascular microenvironments within a single construct. The dual‐modulus matrix directs aligned myotube formation and endothelial network development, enabling a vascularized muscle implant that seamlessly anastomoses with host tissue and ...

A note on orthogonal arrays obtained by orthogonal decomposition of projection matrices
A method of constructing mixed-level orthogonal arrays is presented by Zhang et al. (Statist. Sinica 2, 595). It is somewhat difficult to use this method to obtain new orthogonal arrays. This paper illustrates with examples the application of the method.
