Methods of Forming Orthogonal Components of Input Signals for Relay Protection

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика, 2019
The existing frequency digital filters for allocation of the fundamental frequency of a sine signal are considered and their advantages and disadvantages are noted. Preference is given to the combined digital filter.

Tuning the Dielectric Properties of Individual Clay Nanosheets by Interlayer Composition: Toward Nano‐Electret Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

Design and Analysis of an Orthogonal Chaotic Vectors based Differential Chaos Shift Keying Communication System

open access: yesمجلة النهرين للعلوم الهندسية, 2017
An orthogonal chaotic vectors based differential chaos shift keying (OCV-DCSK) digital communication system is presented. In this system the data transmission rates are increased by sending M bits in the same frame without needing for synchronization and

Defect Analysis of the β– to γ–Ga2O3 Phase Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The role of defects at all the relevant stages of the β$\beta$‐ to γ$\gamma$‐Ga2O3 polymorph transition is investigated using a multi method approach. The positron annihilation spectroscopy based results show that the defect density decreases after the transition, and that changes in defect configuration within the γ phase occur with increasing ...

Analysis of Power Amplifier Modeling Schemes for Crosscorrelation Predistorters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Amplification of signals with fluctuating envelopes leads to distortion because of non-linear behavior of the Power Amplifier (PA). Digital Predistortion can counteract these non-linear effects.

Host‐Directed Biomaterials for Combatting Bloodstream Infections: From Macrocyclic Peptides to Immune‐Activating Cell Backpacks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bloodstream infections (BSI) are one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in both civilian and military populations. This paper summarizes recent progress in novel treatment strategies to manage BSI arising from both bacterial and fungal pathogens using molecules, particles, and materials to elicit host‐directed immunity.

Selective and Precise Editing of Digital Polymers Through Parallel or Series Toehold‐Mediated Strand Displacement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A sequence‐encoded supramolecular construct containing two accessible toeholds is developed herein for enabling multiple editing operations. By introducing specific input strands, it is possible to selectively erase or rewrite digital content through parallel or series toehold‐mediated strand displacement (PTMSD or STMSD).

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Orthogonalized human protease control of secreted signals

open access: yesNature Chemical Biology
AbstractSynthetic circuits that regulate protein secretion in human cells could support cell-based therapies by enabling control over local environments. While protein-level circuits enable such potential clinical applications, featuring orthogonality and compactness, their non-human origin poses a potential immunogenic risk.

Mechanical Properties of Architected Polymer Lattice Materials: A Comparative Study of Additive Manufacturing and CAD Using FEM and µ‐CT

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how pore shape and manufacturing‐induced deviations affect the mechanical properties of 3D‐printed lattice materials with constant porosity. Combining µ‐CT analysis, FEM, and compression testing, the authors show that structural imperfections reduce stiffness and strength, while bulk material inhomogeneities probably enhance ...
