'Complementary' Signals and Orthogonalized Exponentials
IRE Transactions on Circuit Theory, 1962When a signal is approximated by a finite set of component signals which span a subspace \Phi , the least-square approximation may be interpreted geometrically in signal space as the projection of the true signal vector upon this finite dimensional subspace.

Optimum orthogonal quantization of signal space (Corresp.)
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1978Orthogonal quantization is a partition of signal space that is achieved by independent quantization of each of its M orthogonal axes. A closed form expression is derived for the quantized channel cutoff rate and for the optimum orthogonal quantization similar to the one that has been derived for binary signaling.

Performance of Percent Gaussian Orthogonal Signaling Waveforms
2014 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2014Recent developments of secure digital chaotic spread spectrum communication systems have been based on the generalized ideals of maximum channel capacity and maximal entropy/security, which result in a Gaussian-distributed noise like signal that is indistinguishable from naturally occurring (band limited) thermal noise.

New discrete orthogonal moments for signal analysis
Signal Processing, 2017Abstract The paper addresses some computational aspects and applications of the polynomial unbiased finite impulse response functions originally derived by Shmaliy as a new class of a one-parameter family of discrete orthogonal polynomials. We present two new explicit formulas to compute these polynomials directly.

Adaptive multirate signal estimation with lattice orthogonalization
2009 16th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems - (ICECS 2009), 2009In this paper, we address the signal estimation problem in statistical multirate systems. We propose an adaptive least squares lattice filter which is sequential and periodically time varying (PTV) with the multirate system period. Furthermore, we consider the elimination of redundant mathematical operations due to sequential processing of multirate ...

An orthogonal peak detector for multiphase sinusoidal signals
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2000A novel sinusoidal amplitude detector is proposed. This detector is based on the characteristic of orthogonal pairs. The salient point of this algorithm is that it can be applied in multiphase systems. The transient performance of this detector is very good, due to its fast response characteristic.

Non-orthogonal Gabor representation of biological signals
Proceedings of ICASSP '94. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2002A new technique for modelling biological signals as a linear combination of non-orthogonal Gabor logons is described. The technique has been applied to two types of signals, event-related potentials (ERPs) and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) clicks. Examination of time-frequency representations of these signals revealed that they appear to consist of a ...

Orthogonal Signal Correction for Voltammetry
Electroanalysis, 2010AbstractThe paper presents orthogonal signal correction (OSC) as a useful algorithm to remove undesired signals distortions, connected with the application of solid electrodes in voltammetry which currently replace toxic mercury sensors due to metal toxicity.

An optimal orthogonal overlay for a cyclostationary legacy signal
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2010In this paper, the design of an overlay system is considered that operates on a channel already occupied by a legacy system. It is assumed that the legacy transmitter generates a cyclostationary signal, and that the legacy receiver is equipped with a linear filter followed by a uniform sampler.
