Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Survey of channel estimation method in delay-Doppler domain for OTFS

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2022
In order to provide reliable communication service for high-mobility scenarios, 6G can consider DD (delay-Doppler) domain based OTFS (orthogonal time frequency space) as its modulation scheme.By mapping the transmitted symbols onto DD domain and ...

Super-orthogonal space-time-frequency trellis coded OFDM

open access: yesIET Communications, 2007
Super-orthogonal space-time trellis codes (SOSTTCs) given in the literature are full rate and provide full spatial diversity with high coding gain in narrowband quasistatic fading channels. The high number of parallel transitions in their trellis structure restricts their performance in wideband channels where the code performance suffers from ...

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Robust Beamforming Design for OTFS-NOMA

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, 2020
This paper considers the design of beamforming for orthogonal time frequency space modulation assisted non-orthogonal multiple access (OTFS-NOMA) networks, in which a high-mobility user is sharing the spectrum with multiple low-mobility NOMA users.

A Sphere-Packing Modulated Space-Frequency Diversity Aided FFH-Assisted DSTBC System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this treatise we demonstrate, how a high spatial and frequency diversity can be achieved by combining Differential Space-Time Block Coding (DSTBC) and Fast Frequency Hopping (FFH).

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Rethink delay Doppler channels and time-frequency coding

open access: yesJournal of Information and Intelligence
In this paper, we rethink delay Doppler channels (also called doubly selective channels). We prove that no modulation schemes (including the current active VOFDM/OTFS) can compensate a non-trivial Doppler spread well. We then discuss some of the existing

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.
