Patellar Reconstruction During Total Knee Arthroplasty for Previous Patellectomy
Patellectomy, an uncommon procedure in the current era, poses a challenge in total knee arthroplasty (TKA), creating anteroposterior instability, anterior knee pain, and loss of mechanical advantage. The TKA is even more complicated when the patellectomy

Three-dimensional printing in paediatric orthopaedic surgery [PDF]
Three-dimensional (3D) printing is a rapidly evolving and promising field to improve outcomes of orthopaedic surgery. The use of patient-specific 3D-printed models is specifically interesting in paediatric orthopaedic surgery, as limb deformity ...

OBJECTIVE Hospitalization, particularly for surgery, represents a period of heightened stress. We evaluated how frailty attenuates the association of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) with negative health outcomes after elective non‐cardiac surgery. METHODS We conducted a cross‐sectional study using the National Inpatient Sample (2018 to 2020), including ...

Radionuclides in orthopaedic surgery [PDF]
Bone scanning with radioactive isotopes has become a routine method for investigating disorders of bone. Departments of nuclear medicine throughout the country offer diagnostic facilities for a variety of problems which affect not only bone, but also the heart, kidney, brain, liver, pancreas and spleen as well as disorders of the blood.

This study proposes a potential device design for joint cartilage replacement. Silica‐polytetrahydrofuran (SiO2‐PolyTHF) hybrids with customizable mechanical properties were developed to mimic the characteristics of a natural meniscus. These were synthesized through a two‐pot sol–gel hybrid process.

Reversible Tuning of Multiple Molecular Kinking for Stem Cell Regulation In Vivo
In this work, we introduce the novel concept of background component‐free “multiple kinks” material platform composed solely of liganded multiple kink‐bearing molecules as a strategy for dynamic biomaterial design. Tri‐kink molecules enable effective near‐infrared light‐triggered ligand masking and visible light‐triggered ligand exposure, thereby ...
