The testing of plastics in medicine is regulated by law only for the purpose of implantation. These rules are not including the plastics for skin contact use. In consequence of the increasing offer of the chemical industry, it is necessary to develop specific procedures of testing for these materials, e.g. for the orthopedic engineering.
