In Situ Stress‐Dispersing Hydrogel Millispheres via Load Redistribution to Restore Nucleus Pulposus Metabolic Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Local stress concentration disrupts metabolic homeostasis and induces inflammation in the nucleus pulposus (NP), thereby accelerating intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD). A biomimetic HA/ChS hydrogel millimeter sphere (ChS@HM) is developed to enable synergistic stress dispersion and sustained hydration lubrication.

Targeting NSUN2‐Mediated m5C Modification Attenuates Chondrocyte Senescence and NLRP3 Activation in Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NSUN2‐mediated m5C modification cooperates with ALYREF to stabilize and export IP3R3 mRNA, increasing IP3R3 expression and Ca2 + overload in chondrocytes. This signaling promotes mitochondrial dysfunction, NLRP3 inflammasome activation, and senescence, thereby accelerating osteoarthritis progression.

Electronic Chip‐Mimetic Medical Implants for Controllable Sonothermal Treatments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the thermal effect of working electronic chips, which consist of various heterostructures, an sonothermal‐responsive platform has been developed through constructing metal‐semiconductor interface on implants. Biofilm infection and deep vein thrombosis can be successfully treated by controllable ultrasound treatments.

Female Patients Exhibit a Narrower Glenoid Rim and Lower Bone Density in the Anteroinferior Quadrant Compared With Male Patients

open access: yesArthroscopy, EarlyView.
Purpose The purpose of this study was to evaluate sex‐based differences in glenoid rim morphology and bone density relevant to arthroscopic Bankart repair. Methods This retrospective study assessed differences in glenoid rim morphology between sexes in patients with shoulder instability and uninjured control subjects who underwent a magnetic resonance ...

Editorial Commentary: Machine Learning and 300,000 Simulations Confirm That Fragility Reflects the P Value, Not Trial Robustness: Taking Apart a Calculator to Reveal That 2 + 2 Equals 4

open access: yesArthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract The fragility index continues to be promoted as a measure of trial robustness despite evidence that it is little more than statistical significance in a different form. Two misconceptions have been particularly persistent throughout the fragility literature: first, that the fragility index can be directly compared with patients lost to follow ...
