Orthorexia Nervosa in Turkish Dietitians
Ecology of Food and Nutrition, 2015The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of orthorexia nervosa in dietitians, as assessed by administering ORTO-15, Eating Attitudes Test-40 (EAT-40) and Maudsley Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (MOCI). Our study included 117 dietitians (Ankara).

This study evaluated the psychometric properties of three orthorexia measures, Orthorexia Nervosa Revised Scale (ORTO-R), Teruel Orthorexia Scale (TOS), and Düsseldorf Orthorexia Scale (DOS), in 1337 Croatian women aged 18 to 21. Participants also completed eating disorder measures (EAT-26, DEAS-S).

2015Das Essverhalten stellt bei Orthorexia nervosa ein Symptom, jedoch nicht das Hauptproblem des Storungsbildes dar. Aus diesem Grund sollte die Behandlung in Zusammenarbeit eines interdisziplinaren Teams erfolgen, so dass die Module Psycho- und Ernahrungstherapie miteinander verknupft werden konnen.

Von daher stellt sich die Frage, welche Faktoren noch einen Einfluss ausuben. Und warum werden manche Menschen, wenn sie eine gesunde Ernahrungsweise verfolgen, davon psychisch krank und andere nicht?

Whilst many people try to make healthy food choices to improve their health, for others the focus on healthy eating can become obsessive and lead to maladaptive eating behaviours and poorer health. Orthorexia nervosa is a preoccupation with the quality of healthy food, where a refusal of certain foods is driven by the desire to be healthy.
