Feasibility of an optimal EMG-driven adaptive impedance control applied to an active knee orthosis

Robotics Auton. Syst., 2019
This paper deals with EMG-driven torque estimation and optimal adaptive impedance control during robot-aided rehabilitation. In this preliminary and feasibility study, the proposed framework was evaluated considering an active knee orthosis and only ...

The LSU Reciprocation-Gait Orthosis

Orthopedics, 1983
ABSTRACT: The LSU reciprocation-gait orthosis is a lightweight bracing device that gives structural support to the lower trunk and lower limbs of the paralytic patient while allowing, through a cable-coupling system, proper hip joint motion for walking.

Effect of foot orthosis design on lower limb joint kinematics and kinetics during walking in flexible pes planovalgus: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

Clinical Biomechanics, 2018
Background: Foot orthoses are commonly used for the management of excessive foot pronation in people with pes planovalgus. However, results are inconsistent due to variability in orthosis geometrical designs.

The Reciprocating Gait Orthosis in Myelomeningocele

Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 1984
Seventeen patients with myelomeningocele were fitted with a device that reciprocally controls hip flexion and extension in an attempt to improve ambulatory ability. To evaluate the function of the reciprocating mechanism, the orthosis was tested in three configurations.

An elbow orthosis.

Biomedical engineering, 1977
An elbow orthosis for unilaterally handicapped persons has been developed. The operating principles and construction of the orthosis are described and its important parameters are determined. The procedure of parameter adjustment is given in detail and the area of application is indicated. Preliminary clinical results are discussed.
