Investigation of in vivo measurement of cerebral cytochrome-c-oxidase redox changes using near-infrared spectroscopy in patients with orthostatic hypotension [PDF]
We have previously used a continuous four wavelength near infrared spectrometer to measure changes in the cerebral concentrations of oxy- (Δ[HbO2] and deoxy- haemoglobin (Δ[HHb]) during head-up tilt in patients with primary autonomic failure.

Orthostatic Hypotension in Parkinson's Disease [PDF]
Abstract: Orthostatic hypotension (OH) is a frequent non-motor symptom in Parkinson’s Disease (PD) affecting between 22.9 and 38.4% of patients. OH is related in PD to increased risk of falls and possibly to cognitive dysfunction and increased mortality. These data emphasizes the importance of its prompt recognition and treatment.

Orthostatic hypotension and novel blood pressure-associated gene variants: Genetics of Postural Hemodynamics (GPH) Consortium [PDF]
Aims: Orthostatic hypotension (OH), an independent predictor of mortality and cardiovascular events, strongly correlates with hypertension. Recent genome-wide studies have identified new loci influencing blood pressure (BP) in populations, but their ...
