Orientable wrinkles in stretched orthotropic films
Extreme Mechanics Letters, 2019Tensional wrinkles are widely observed in elastic thin films, with mono-orientation of wrinkles being usually perpendicular to the stretching direction.

Mode I Generalised Stress Intensity Factors for rounded notches in orthotropic plates
Theoretical and applied fracture mechanics (Print), 2019In this paper, taking advantage of a recent analytical solution for the stress fields in notched orthotropic plates under tension, new equations are provided for the mode I Generalised Stress Intensity Factor (GSIF) in the case of rounded notches.

Buckling of Orthotropic Circular Plates
AIAA Journal, 1973Exact closed form solutions in terms of Bessel and Lommel functions are obtained for the symmetric buckling of cylindrically aeolotropic circular plates. Closed form solutions are also obtained for the first asymmetric mode of buckling. Further, a series solution is proposed for higher asymmetric modes of buckling.

An axisymmetric problem of magnetoelasticity for flexible orthotropic shells with orthotropic conductivity is solved. A governing system of nonlinear differential equations that describes the stress–strain state of flexible orthotropic shells of revolution in mechanical and magnetic fields is derived. Numerical examples are given. The dependence of the

Wave motion in a three-layered, orthotropic-isotropic-orthotropic, composite shell
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1995Summary: A classification of the possible free wave motions in a three-layered composite thick cylinder is presented. The governing equations of motion for free wave motion for isotropic and orthotropic elastic media are given and a combined solution is developed for a thick cylinder made of three different materials, such as orthotropic-isotropic ...

Stress Distributions in Orthotropic Strips
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1955Abstract The distribution of stress in orthotropic strips stretched by equal and opposite concentrated loads acting centrally and parallel to the longer sides is discussed. Numerical results are given for oak, the grain being, respectively, perpendicular and parallel to the longer sides of the strip.
