The role of wild rice (Oryza rufipogon) awns in seed dispersal
Cultivated rice (Oryza sativa L.) was domesticated from the Asian wild species O. rufipogon. Compared with cultivated rice, wild rice has spikelets/seeds with long barbed awns.
