Long‐Term Elevated CO2 Improves Soil Health and Rice Yields in Paddy Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combining the two longest‐running rice free‐air CO2 enrichment experiments with a global data synthesis, this study demonstrates that long‐term elevated CO2 consistently enhances soil health. In rice paddies, this improvement sustains the CO2 fertilization effect over decades.

Precision Editing of NLRS Improves Effector Recognition for Enhanced Disease Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Precision engineering of plant NLR immune receptors enables rational design of enhanced pathogen resistance through mismatched pairing, domain swapping, and targeted mutagenesis. These approaches achieve multi‐fold expansion in recognition breadth while minimizing autoimmunity risks and fitness penalties.

Whole genome sequencing data of Oryza sativa L. cv. Takanari

open access: yesData in Brief, 2019
Oryza sativa L. ‘Takanari’ is one of the most productive indica cultivars [1,2]. Reciprocal chromosome segment substitution lines (CSSLs) derived from a cross between ‘Koshihikari’ and ‘Takanari’ are useful tools for the detection and precise mapping of ...

Evaluation of Waterhyacinth and Paddy Straw Waste for Culture of Oyster Mushrooms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Waterhyacinth ( Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms.) was evaluated at ratios of 25, 50 and 75% with paddy straw ( Oryza sativa L.) for oyster mushroom ( Pleurotus sajor-caju) cultivation.

Modulating Purothionin Accumulation and Signal Peptide Cleavage Fine‐Tunes Wheat Flour Gluten Properties to Improve Cookie‐Making Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dual genetic strategies for improving wheat processing quality by regulating purothionin accumulation to modulate gluten quantity and quality. The first strategy involves targeting signal peptide (SP) cleavage sites (e.g., through mutation) to indirectly reduce gluten content, thereby disrupting gluten network formation.

Autopolyploidization‐Induced Chromatin Remodeling Regulates Leaf Size Variation in Brassica rapa

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that monoploid, diploid, and autotetraploid Brassica rapa lines derived from the same genome exhibit distinct leaf morphology. Ploidy changes remodel chromatin accessibility and histone modifications to regulate gene expression, while key transcription factors BrGRF13 and BrARF11 control leaf size and polarity, driving ...

Nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization in upland rice in the municipality of Humaitá at Amazonas State

open access: yesRevista Ceres, 2023
The fertilization management can contribute to a better agronomic performance of rice (Oryza sativa L.) plants in upland conditions. Thus, the objective in this study was to evaluate the development of rice plants fertilized with different doses of ...
