Obstrüktif uyku apnesi (OSAS) hastalarında irisin düzeyinin araştırılması = Research of irisin level at obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) patients /

open access: yes, 2019

Porous Modified Calcium Carbonate as an Efficient Carrier for Gallic and Ascorbic Acids in Humidity‐Activated Oxygen Scavenging Systems

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, EarlyView.
Porous modified calcium carbonate (MCC) is presented as an efficient carrier for humidity‐activated oxygen scavengers based on gallic acid and ascorbic acid. The porous MCC structure preserves high accessibility of the active compounds, enabling effective oxygen scavenging under high relative humidity, with performance governed by loading level ...

Paradigms and Principles for Integrating Nature Technology Data: Challenges, Opportunities, and Next Steps in Real‐World Biodiversity Monitoring

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
We propose a set of paradigms (survey design, tip and cue, validation, consilience, interpolation and extrapolation, and data fusion) and prioritize a set of principles (metadata standards, use rights and licensing, scientific rigor, and utility) as the foundations of an actionable framework for nature technology data integration. We then analyze seven

Osas and Associated Comorbidities - A Retrospective Study

open access: yes, 2018
OSAS (obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome) is the most common type of sleep apnoea, characterised by obstruction of the upper airways during sleep, causing the absence or reduction of airflow, although there is respiratory muscular activity. It contributes

Neurotrophic Signaling, Sleep Physiology, and Retinal Neuroprotection: Integrative Mechanisms and Therapeutic Implications for Glaucoma

open access: yesSensory Neuroscience, EarlyView.
Glaucoma is increasingly understood as a neurodegenerative disorder shaped by sleep and circadian physiology, not intraocular pressure alone. Sleep loss and obstructive sleep apnea suppress BDNF–TrkB neurotrophic signaling, impair sleep‐dependent glymphatic clearance, and trigger microglial neuroinflammation and vascular insult at the optic nerve head,

Inflammation accelerates atherosclerotic processes in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is an often underestimated sleep disorder that has been associated with cardiovascular disease. OSAS is characterized by cycles of apnea and/or hypopnea during sleep caused by the collapse of the upper airways ...

Predictability of obstructive sleep apnea with a somesthetic screening score: Development and preliminary validation in a prospective study

open access: yesSleep Research, EarlyView.
This prospective study developed a two‐step clinical scoring system for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) screening based on patients’ somesthetic perception of oropharyngeal airflow. The Intermediate Score (IS ≥ 7.5) achieved 73% sensitivity and 77% specificity (AUC = 0.7754; OR = 8.96).

Severity of obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome and body mass gain after emergence of snoring symptom

open access: yesТерапевтический архив, 2004
Aim. To search for simple clinical criteria for prediction of obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS). Material and methods. Case histories of 389 patients with uncomplicated snoring and OSAS (321 males and 68 females, mean age 55.2 ± 10.9 years) were ...

Artificial intelligence in out‐of‐hospital sleep monitoring: Bridging polysomnography and wearable signals

open access: yesSleep Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Polysomnography (PSG), the reference standard for sleep assessment, has limited scalability for large‐scale screening, driving the development of wearable and unobtrusive monitors. However, the physiological signals these devices capture are physiologically correlated with PSG channels but are not completely equivalent.
