Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

Homogenization of oscillating boundaries and applications to thin films

open access: yes, 2000
We prove a homogenization result for integral functionals in domains with oscillating boundaries, showing that the limit is defined on a degenerate Sobolev space. We apply this result to the description of the asymptotic behaviour of thin films with fast-

Parameter Variation in Planetary Ball Milling of Titanium Aluminide Powder in XHV‐Adequate Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the effects of milling parameters, including rotational speed, milling duration, and ball‐to‐powder ratio, on TiAl particle size and morphology in an XHV‐equivalent atmosphere. The creation of oxide‐free surfaces enhances the mechanical properties of green bodies.

Stablizing oscillating universes against quantum decay

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate the effect of vacuum corrections, due to the trace anomaly and Casimir effect, on the stability of an oscillating universe with respect to decay by tunneling to the singularity.

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Quasi-Slowly Oscillating Sequences in Locally Normal Riesz Spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analysis and Applications, 2017
In this paper, we study quasi-slowly oscillating sequences, on quasi-slowly oscillating compactness and quasi-slowly oscillating continuous functions in locally normal Riesz space.

Exciton-Polariton Oscillations in Real Space

open access: yes, 2014
We introduce and model spin-Rabi oscillations based on exciton-polaritons in semiconductor microcavities. The phase and polarization of oscillations can be controlled by resonant coherent pulses and the propagation of oscillating domains gives rise to ...

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Microstructure and properties of AZ31 magnesium alloy via oscillating laser-arc hybrid additive manufacturing

open access: yesHanjie xuebao
The oscillating laser-arc hybrid additive manufacturing of AZ31 magnesium alloy was carried out, and the effect of oscillating amplitude on porosity, grain size, characteristics of grain boundary, and tensile properties of deposited components was ...

Flow of a Jeffrey fluid between torsionally oscilla

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2015
In this paper, the flow of Jeffrey fluid between two torsionally oscillating disks is studied. This problem is solved in two cases. The first case is one disk oscillating and the other is at rest and the second case is two disks are oscillating with same
