Oscillating Shock Impinging on a Flat Plate at Mach 6 [PDF]

open access: yesAIAA Aviation 2019 Forum, 2019
This work discusses the design, measurement and simulation of an experiment in a Mach 6 wind tunnel involving an oscillating shock impinging on a flat plate. The design of the oscillating shock-generator is performed using piston theory. The oscillation frequency is designed to be larger than 30 Hz, to match typical fuselage natural frequencies of ...

New solutions of stokes problem for an oscillating plate using Laplace transform [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management, 2005
An exact solution of the flow of a Newtonian fluid on a porous plate is obtained when the plate at y = 0 is oscillating with the amplitude β and oscillating frequency ω with the assumption that the plate initially is at rest and that the velocity ...

Hypersonic Oscillating Shock-Wave/Boundary-Layer Interaction on a Flat Plate [PDF]

open access: yesAIAA Journal, 2021
This work discusses the design, measurement, andsimulation of an oscillating shock-wave/boundary-layer interaction on a flat plate atMach 5.8 and Re = 7 × 10 m. The shockgenerator is free to pitch and oscillates with a frequency of 42 Hz, resulting in a shock that varies in intensity and impingement point, with a maximum flow-deflection angle of ...

Homotopy Simulation of Non-Newtonian Spriggs Fluid Flow Over a Flat Plate with Oscillating Motion [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2019
An incompressible flow of a non-Newtonian Spriggs fluid over an unsteady oscillating plate is investigated using the Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM). An analytic solution of sine and cosine oscillations of the plate has been obtained.

Effect of Localized Heating on Three-Dimensional Flat-Plate Oscillating Heat Pipe [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2010
An experimental investigation was conducted, both thermally and visually, on a three-dimensional flat-plate oscillating heat pipe (3D FP-OHP) to characterize its performance under localized heat fluxes while operating in the bottom heating mode and ...

Numerically Investigating the Energy-Harvesting Performance of an Oscillating Flat Plate with Leading and Trailing Flaps [PDF]

open access: yesEnergies
This study investigates the power generation capability of an oscillating wing energy harvester equipped with two actively controlled flaps positioned at the leading and trailing flaps of the wing.

Hydrodynamic coefficients of oscillating flat plates at 0.15 ⩽ KC⩽ 3.15 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This article presents an experimental investigation on the hydrodynamic coefficients of oscillating flat plates. The plates are forced to oscillate harmonically in still water. The range of Keulegan–Carpenter number (KC= 2 πa/ D, where a is the single amplitude of oscillation and D is the equivalent diameter of the plate) is 0.15 ⩽ KC⩽ 3.15.

Heat transfer analysis in a non-Newtonian hybrid nanofluid over an exponentially oscillating plate using fractional Caputo–Fabrizio derivative

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
In this paper, we have been study a hybrid nanofluid over an exponentially oscillating vertical flat plate. Therefore the fractional derivatives definition of Caputo–Fabrizio approach is applied to transform the classical model for this hybrid nanofluid ...

The flow by the rotational oscillation of the flat plate.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series B, 1989
It is interesting to examine the flow around a body that is impulsively started to oscillate from rest. We analyze the flow around a float plate acting in a rotational oscillation about one end of the plate in a stationary fluid, using the discrete vortex model with the comformal mapping method.

Flapping Propulsion of Oscillating Flat Plates [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Society for Aeronautical & Space Sciences, 2004
The propulsive characteristics of oscillating flat plates are investigated using a discrete vortex method. The plates and their wakes are represented by discrete point vortices. To analyze the closely coupled aerodynamic interference between the plates, a vortex core model and a vortex core addition scheme are combined.
