Experimental Study of Thermal and Electrical Performance of an Oscillating‐Magnet Thermosyphon Heat Pipe Under Geyser Boiling Conditions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study experimentally investigates the thermal and electrical performance of an oscillating‐magnet thermosyphon heat pipe (OM‐THP) designed for simultaneous heat transfer and electricity generation. The proposed OM‐THP utilizes geyser‐boiling (GB)–induced oscillations of an internal magnet to convert thermal energy into electrical energy through ...

Fundamental Mechanistic Understanding of Electrocatalysis of Oxygen Reduction on Pt and Non‐Pt Surfaces: Acid versus Alkaline Media

open access: yesAdvances in Physical Chemistry, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
Complex electrochemical reactions such as Oxygen Reduction Reaction (ORR) involving multi‐electron transfer is an electrocatalytic inner‐sphere electron transfer process that exhibit strong dependence on the nature of the electrode surface. This criterion (along with required stability in acidic electrolytes) has largely limited ORR catalysts to the ...

Review on Synthesis Methods of Carbon Nanotubes as Activated Carbon Composites Based on Biomass for Supercapacitors in Electric Vehicles

open access: yesEnergy Technology, Volume 13, Issue 7, July 2025.
This work reviews various methods to synthesize carbon nanotubes and analyzes the best methods to produce composites for supercapacitors for electric vehicles. Chemical vapor deposition is found to be the best method because the produced CNTs can be used directly without purification unless the catalyst particles need to be removed.

Advanced Cooling of Photovoltaic Panels Using Hybrid Nanofluids Incorporating Graphene Oxide and Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Photovoltaic (PV) panels play a pivotal role in advancing renewable energy adoption by offering a clean and sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. However, elevated operating temperatures diminish PV cell performance, reducing energy output and accelerating material wear.

Effect of Localized Heating on Three-Dimensional Flat-Plate Oscillating Heat Pipe

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2010
An experimental investigation was conducted, both thermally and visually, on a three-dimensional flat-plate oscillating heat pipe (3D FP-OHP) to characterize its performance under localized heat fluxes while operating in the bottom heating mode and ...

Thermal Performance Analysis of Solar Photovoltaic/Thermal Systems Based on Porous Media and Nanofluids

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
In this study, a solar photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) system optimized via the synergistic effect of porous media and nanofluids is proposed. The influences of porous media parameters (shape, thickness, and Darcy number) and nanofluid properties (volume fraction and mixing ratio) on the system’s heat transfer (HT) and power generation performance are ...

Fouling of a double pipe heat exchanger [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Every single heat exchanger in operation in modern industries is exposed to fouling to a greater or lesser extent depending on the surface temperature, surface condition, material of construction, fluid velocity, flow geometry and fluid composition.

Regression analysis to predict the performance of acetone and SWCNT nano fluids in oscillating heat pipe

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermofluids
This work evaluates the heat transfer capabilities of a closed-loop oscillating heat pipe (OHP) filled with acetone and SWCNT during phase change. The OHP, with four turns, was tested for its thermal performance. The study varied the acetone filler ratio

Heat transfer and temperature characteristics of single-loop oscillating heat pipe under axial-rotation conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Thermal management is important for rotating machinery, such as spindles, grinding wheels or drillers, etc. If the heat cannot be dissipated in time, high temperatures will be generated, and abnormal operations or even destruction of the machinery may ...
