Numerical Analysis on Temperature Field of Grinding Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Alloy by Oscillating Heat Pipe Grinding Wheel

open access: yesMetals, 2020
When grinding hard-to-machining materials such as titanium alloys, a massive grinding heat is generated and gathers in the grinding zone due to the low thermal conduction of the materials.

Experimental Investigation of Oscillating Heat Pipes

open access: yesJournal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer, 2000
Operation requirements of oscillating heat pipes (OHPs) are proposed. Based on the requirements, OHPs with nonflammable fluorocarbon fluids, FC-72 and FC-75, as the working fluid are developed. The OHPs have an inner diameter of 1.75 mm, a total length of 446 mm, and 40 tubing turns.

Heat Transport Capacity of an Axial-Rotating Single-Loop Oscillating Heat Pipe for Abrasive-Milling Tools

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
In order to enhance heat transfer in the abrasive-milling processes to reduce thermal damage, the concept of employing oscillating heat pipes (OHPs) in an abrasive-milling tool is proposed. A single-loop OHP (SLOHP) is positioned on the plane parallel to

Correlation of average liquid film thickness formed during liquid column oscillation in a channel

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2021
Liquid film thickness is an important parameter for predicting phase change heat transfer in pulsating heat pipes (PHPs). This study experimentally evaluated the liquid film thickness formed during the oscillation of the liquid column within PHPs.
