A Soft Robotic Morphing Wing for Unmanned Underwater Vehicles
This study presents the design and hydrodynamic characterization of a soft wing for implementation on underwater gliders. Through hydraulic actuation, the soft wing deforms and adjusts its lift‐to‐drag ratio, which ranges from −70% to +10% with respect to a rigid wing.

Creation of a Fish-Friendly Aquatic Hydropower Device Using an Oscillating Hydrofoil
The harnessing of hydropower for use as a clean, marine life compatible energy source has been a struggle with conventional hydropower devices. The goal of our project was to design, develop, and test an alternative system to conventional hydro dams and ...

2D Oscillating Hydrofoil [PDF]
This paper presents a validation of numerical simulations in case of a forced oscillating hydrofoil. As a representative case study for vibrating blade in hydraulics machines, a 2D NACA 0009 oscillating hydrofoil is considered. Pressure coefficients from

Research on the Influence of Hydrofoil Propulsive Parameters on Propulsion Efficiency
Oscillating hydrofoils can be used to simplify the study of the swinging caudal fin propulsive mode of fish, where the motion parameters have a direct impact on the hydrodynamic performance and propulsive efficiency. In this study, numerical calculations

Analytic Study on the Thrust of Two-Dimensional Foil with Aileron in Wave Field
Numerous devices to reduce ship resistance have been suggested. One of them, a propagating hydrofoil in a wave field, can produce thrust and might be used to reduce the resistance of ships.
