Observations of the Vertical Structure of Tidal Currents in Two Inlets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Observations of the vertical structure of broad band tidal currents were obtained at two energetic inlets. Each experiment took place over a 4 week period, the first at Hampton Inlet in southeastern New Hampshire, USA, in the Fall of 2011, and the second

Heteroatom‐Engineering Promoted Co9S8 Bi‐functional Electrocatalyst for Hydrazine‐Assisted Hydrogen Production at Industrial Current Density

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fe and P co‐doped Co9S8 nanocorals (Fe, P‐Co9S8) are successfully synthesized by a heteroatom engineering strategy, which exhibit outstanding bifunctional electrocatalytic performance for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and hydrazine oxidation reaction (HzOR).

Modeling the hydrodynamics of the OWC device placed over an undulated seabed in the presence of ocean current

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
The current investigation emphasizes the mathematical modeling of the hydrodynamics associated with the oscillating water column wave energy converter (OWC-WEC) device situated above undulating bottom of the ocean in the presence of ocean currents.

Hydrodynamics of a Free Floating Vertical Axisymmetric Oscillating Water Column Device

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
This paper aims at presenting a general formulation of the hydrodynamic problem of a floating or restrained oscillating water column device. Three types of first-order boundary value problems are investigated in order to calculate the velocity potential ...

Dynamic Response Analysis of Jacket Platform Integrated With Oscillating Water Column Device

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2020
For the marginal oilfield with low oil extraction, adding wave energy conversion device integration to the jacket platform is very meaningful for reducing the mining cost. First, the design concept of integrated oscillating water column (OWC) device with

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Metal Integration Principles, Strategies and Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

Hydrodynamic Responses of Floating Oscillating Water Column for Wave Energy Conversion [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Wave energy is a promising renewable resource due to its high-power density, predictability, and relatively low environmental impact. Oscillating Water Columns (OWCs) have been widely investigated as wave energy converters (WECs), yet floating platforms ...

On the tuning of a wave-energy driven oscillating-water-column seawater pump to polychromatic waves

open access: yes, 2007
Performance of wave-energy devices of the oscillating water column (OWC) type is greatly enhanced when a resonant condition with the forcing waves is maintained.

Performance Analysis of a 3D Axisymmetric Oscillating Water Column

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2014
AbstractThis paper presents an analysis, by numerical simulation, of the effects of some geometric parameters on the efficiency of an axisymmetric oscillating water column wave energy converter by using ANSYS ICEM CFD and CFX. The study is focused, principally, on the variation of power take off size, front wall shape, air column size, wave conditions ...

3D‐Printed Porous Hydroxyapatite Formed via Enzymatic Mineralization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bone combines lightness, strength, and the ability to heal, inspiring new materials design. This work introduces a room‐temperature, enzyme‐mediated 3D printing method to create porous hydroxyapatite scaffolds. The process avoids energy‐intensive sintering, preserves bioactivity, and allows control over porosity and mineralization.
